A Wishart client was looking to expand their kitchen, dining & living room area & construct a new rear deck. Our first task was to design, draft and obtain engineering approval prior to submitting plans to our building certifier to lodge with council.
Creating a larger interior space involved removing the wall, window & sliding door. Utilising part of the existing deck we brought the outer wall in line with the original roof support posts. We replaced the aluminium window & door with a Cedar single light four door bifold with fixed single light panels either side.
Our experienced timber suppliers provided invaluable assistance by meeting us onsite to help identify the species of the original flooring allowing us to provide a match.
After demolishing what remained of the previous deck, we began constructing a new 8.5m x 4.2m spotted gum deck. We then installed a 9.7m x 4.8m skillion patio with 100mm Trimspan insulated panels. Beams were powder coated white and roof sheets, gutter & flashing matching the aluminium balustrade panels in Wallaby. Privacy screens were also added either end of the deck.
We also arranged installation of a centre opening retractable screen door with a recessed bottom track in order to enable our client to open the bifold doors and enjoy the breeze without having to worry about tiny insects getting inside.
The end result – The perfect place to entertain or relax – inside or out.
